Many people love to visit this place, but I personally think its a dump. Sure there are some really nice things about NY. Like the two wonderful vendors located at the corner of 44th and 7th Ave. For those that don't recognize that corner it is smack dab in the Middle of Times Square (shudder/vomit in my mouth out of disgust). These two wonderful people could for a small price of say 11 dollars provide with all you would need for a day. (diet coke, nice big hot dog, and sweet classy I love NYC tshirt, what more could one want for a day)
Lets take a step back and let me explain why I was in NYC to begin. I work for a wonderful company that pays me very well to do very little, but I do manage the NYC territory as its internal wholesaler. Ruth, an associate of mine, manages the territory as the external wholesaler (and makes a lot more money than I do. Like 10 times or more money than i do). Working as an internal is not a bad gig. I occasionally get to travel to the center of the universe, or at least that is what every NYC resident seems to think. Well NYC I got news for you I like London, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond, Baltimore, DC, Boston, etc. etc. etc. more than I like you.
Good things about trips to NYC for company business, I get a free dinner with Adam Prida on the company dollar at a great restaurant. Bad things about the trip to NYC for company business, I get to go to NYC for business. I had to set through possibly some of the worst/most boring seminars in my life. Who knew finance could be so painful. Lets remember this was in NYC the center of World Finance. It was a terrible conference company that will not be named. Other bad things about the trip. The little man at the airport who offered us a ride, I thought he was a taxi driver, and then charged us 85 dollars for said ride. BOO to you man from the DOminican Republic. I think he was the DR. It was definitely Caribbean.
Ok the trip wasnt nearly as bad as I am making it sound, but it wasnt as good as you would have thought it was going to be since it was NYC. NYC is an interesting city that lies. It claims it never sleeps. Well since im trying to lose weight I get up early to work out. At 5 am there was no one in Times Square, and only 4 other people in the Marriot Marquis's fitness center, which proves NYC definitely does sleep, and probably more than the rest of the country since the people in the Marquis were visitors and they were up. Eat that NYC. I also never saw the naked guitar playing cowboy guy (huge disappoint, I really wanted a picture with him for the Christmas card next year)
With that I am going to call this blog officially over for the evening. This blog entry is dedicated to a very good friend and huge fan Stacy Dooley.
