We have been furniture shopping for the past couple of months now and we finally purchased a new couch and chair. We were graciously given the couch and chair we have now by Marty's parents, yet we wanted to get some furniture of our own now that we are approaching our one year anniversary. We went to a store down in Chesapeake that we loved. We were able to pick out our own fabric and really choose the style that we wanted. The couch is a light green color with an off white roping around the edges. The chair glides and swivels and is a seersucker type fabric. It is a striped pattern with bright greens, blues and off white colors on it. It is coastal colors, which we found we really liked from all our shopping. We are really excited, yet we have to wait 8 weeks until we have the furniture in our home- boo. Oh well, we will let y'all see when it comes. Below are pictures from their website.

Sorry for the absence of blogs in the past couple of weeks. The weather is getting warmer, and our free time is being spent at the beach now!!! The best part about living here- wahoo! Well, as those of you in the education world know, this week is teacher appreciation week. My job as a first year, first grade, title 1 school teacher has been the hardest job I have ever known. I have come home in tears more times that I can count. Marty has been a big sport listening to me complain about disobedient and disrespectful children. But this week, I choose to try to look at the positive aspects of my job. Even though I still came home in tears two times this week, at least it wasn't five times. I got some very sweet teacher appreciation week gifts such as TAPS gift cards, a Yankee candle, candies, a rose, notepads, and sweet cards. I got this new kind of candy that I definitely recommend everyone try. It is called Giant, Chewy Nerds and it is a jelly bean covered in a shell of tiny little nerds. Sounds weird but I swear it is good. Anyways- other good things that happened this week. Only one child threw-up in the room this week. PTA provided lunch a couple times this week, so I did not have to make my peanut butter and jelly sandwich too many times. We took a field trip to the Planetarium and learned a lot about space. There are some positives to teaching in a Title 1 school even if it is not the place for me forever! Tell a teacher you appreciate them this week!
