Summer reading...

Every summer I rediscover my love for reading. During the school year, I long to read something other than school books, report cards, work e-mails, parent letters, and behavior folders, yet there is not enough time in the day. Well, now that summer is here my summer reading has begun quicker than most summers. I am currently reading my fourth book of the summer, all four books so far are by Emily Giffin. They are not masterpieces, they are not classics, yet they are your typical summer books that are filled with characters you fall in love with and yearn for the happy endings with too. Fortunately, they all have their happy ending of sorts, which keeps me reading the next book that follows. Emily Giffin writes Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, and Love The One Your With. I am currently reading the last book. Check out- Emily's website to read a little about her story. It is mirrored in some of the books which add a neat spin to her stories. Tell me about any good books you've stumbled upon this summer. I am going to need suggestions after I finish her last novel.

Schools Out!!!

I survived my first year in Kindergarten! I am truly happy that I switched schools this year to Western Branch. I absolutely love my co-workers and love teaching 1/2 day kindergarten. It gets stressful and tiring at times, but I have enjoyed my year as a whole!

This past weekend we had a youth group gutter party to celebrate the start of summer. For those of you unfamiliar with the term gutter party, do not be is simply a party planned around gutter filled with ice-cream and toppings. Yum! Middle school and high school kids loved it (and all of the twenty-something year old, male youth leaders as well!) Here are some fun pictures of the event to help you start getting in the summer-time spirit!
