Redecorating...

Marty and I are still renting in Norfolk; therefore, we have not spent much time decorating our condo. We have made it feel "homey", yet there is only so much we can to while renting. With that being said, I have tried to invest some time and little money in making our "bedroom" more functional. We are still using my childhood full bed, and some hand-me-down dressers, yet I got some cute new night stands to add next to the bed. I also got new white linens to complement the sea green tables. It is a work in progress. We still need to figure out what to do with the dressers, whether we buy new or paint and work with what we have. This is a good start, until we find the right home in the area to really make ours.

Before picture...(gotta love the wall of mirrors! Sorry, can't change that)

After shots...

The framed monogram was super easy to create, and I got the idea from Young House Love Blog. I just typed our monogram in word, printed and cut out. Then a choose some cute Martha Stewart tissue paper, and sued double sided tape to keep the letters centered on the tissue paper. Then I put it in a normal white frame, and it is a cute, personalized piece of art.

I still need to find some cute lamps to add height. Any ideas?

I also reorganized our big bookshelf. I read an article in Real Simple that showed bookshelves organized by color, and I wanted to try it. I think it turned out kind of neat.

Love all of the neat ideas. Young House Love and Real Simple are my two favorite places to get ideas. Try Target or TJ Maxx Homegoods for lamps. I like the lamps that are clear and have circular balls for the base and stack up the top. I can send a picture if needed!:) I am sure you will find something great.
