We drove to Nashville this weekend to be a part of Tyler and Amy's wedding weekend. Tyler is a friend we met in Norfolk through church and our community group. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating their marriage together. We arrived on Friday night to the rehearsal at the church, then ate a lovely dinner at Belle Meade Plantation.
We enjoyed at delicious dinner and shared stories of Amy and Tyler.
On Saturday, Marty had lots of obligations as a groomsman, so I explored historic downtown Franklin with some girlfriends. Franklin is about 25 minutes outside of Nashville, and is such a cute town. Little shops and boutiques line the streets with brick sidewalks and old trees. We had a great time exploring this sweet little town.
The wedding ceremony was at five that evening. The church was beautifully decorated with white candles, white and light blue hydrangeas and greens. Amy wore a strapless, lace dress and a low veil . The bridesmaids wore strapless blue JCrew-ish dresses with nude pumps. The service was short and sweet and both the bride and groom shed joyful tears.
After the ceremony, we headed to the reception at an old factory in Franklin called The Factory. It was a historic building with brick walls, high ceilings with white lights. They played fun music and had great food. They had a photo booth with lots of dress up clothes to take funny pictures. After the picture was taken, we put our pictures into a photo booth for the bride and groom, and we got to take a copy home...I think this was Marty's favorite part of the reception, apparently he likes to dress up in silly costumes.
Overall, we had a wonderful weekend celebrating with our friends! I hope you enjoy a long weekend wherever you are :)
