19 Weeks

This week we have been spending a lot of time on the house.  HG and I have been hitting the thrift stores, and doing lots of long shopping trips.  She has been a trooper!

She had her 4 month check up on Monday and got the second round of shots.  She was more tired this time than the 2nd month shots and took some long naps.
Here are her 4 month stats (really 4 months and 2 weeks):
13 lbs. 2 oz., 21st percentile
23 inches long, 3rd percentile
16 in head circumference
She has been talking up a storm recently.  She will smile and bat her eyes and anyone who pays attention to her.  She loves all the old ladies at the grocery store that fuss over her :)
She is starting to sleep better in public, since we have been on the move a lot more recently.
She is transitioning into a 4 hour routine, with longer naps.
She is starting to love the sophomore girls in my small group.  We meet on Sunday nights for small group, and she sees them at youth group on Wednesday nights too.  She loves when they hold her and smile at her.  We are so blessed by these sweet girls.

I still get lots of smiles every morning when I come into get HG up.  She is a morning person for sure!
I get to watch my friend's daughter twice a month at church, while she has an important meeting.  HG  loves her play dates with her BFF.  They are only a month apart, and will soon enjoy playing together and not just next to each other :)

4 Month Favorites

4 Month Favorites

Here are some things that we have used a lot this month.

#1- Beco Gemini Carrier:  This is the only carrier HG is happy in, we have tried lots.  In this one, she can face out or in on the front, and ride on my back and side (which we haven't tried yet).  This makes shopping a breeze.

#2-  Sophie Giraffe:  The teething toy every baby loves.  HG is able to hold this and chew away for a long time.

#3-  Lamaze bird toy:  HG loves this little bird on her car seat.  She loves the colors and textures.  I can hear all the different sounds it makes while driving.

#4- Ameda Purely Yours Pump:  Since HG has been sleeping through the night, this has been a must have for me.  It is about 1/2 the price of the Medela brand and has met my needs just fine.

18 weeks

This weekend, my Grandparents came to visit.  What a treat it was for them to drive all the way from Wisconsin to meet their great granddaughter!  HG loved all the attention, and is missing them lots!

We took them to see the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.  What a beautiful view of God's creation!

 Hatley-Grace's was impressed.

Her new thing is sticking out her tongue and letting it hang out for a while.  What a strange child!  Definitely gets that from her Father.  A friend gave us this walker, we still have a few more months to go until she fits into this :)

4 months

Hatley-Grace is four months old today.

The past few weeks, I have fallen in love with my sweet girl even more than I thought possible.  Her little personality is developing right now and it is such a joy to watch her grow.

We bought a home and moved in during this month of HG's life.  I hope to see her take her first steps in our living room, become a big sister, climb the trees in the front yard, and have her first day of school, all in this home.  I have had a hard time during this move.  We are in a home that needs lots of deep cleaning, and has too many projects to count.  We need all sorts of furniture without the budget to just go and get it.  We have very little shopping here, i.e no Target, so running out quickly to get the million and one things we need is not possible.  Yet, during all this change, HG has been such a trooper.

On Thursday, I saw my little girl's sweet heart like never before...

I had found the perfect church pew bench on Craigslist.  We have been looking for one since we got married, over 6 years!  This was was beautiful and simple and the right size.  I had agreed on a price with the owner and we were going to pick it up on Saturday.  Awesome!  One thing actually done in this home!  It would add so much seating to our living room, and would be the perfect entertaining piece!  (I was very excited about it).

HG woke up from her nap and I while I was nursing her I got an e-mail from the owner of the pew that she had sold it for a better price and that they had picked it up already.  I was so upset, I started crying.  I am not a cryer, like I think this was the first time HG had ever seen me cry.  She immediately stopped nursing, looked up at me, started pouting and cried right there with me.  As long as tears were rolling down my face, they rolled down hers too.  Like her Mama, HG is not a cryer either, she basically only cries when she is really tired and is going to sleep.

The Lord showed me a little glimpse of Hately-Grace's empathetic heart.  She has such a patient and calm heart.  Others constantly comment on how calm and content she is.  She is a happy baby, yet this week I saw her heart, her sweet spirit shinning through.  I don't know how the Lord will use this in her life, but I know that He is going to do great things through her.

I don't know weight or height, our 4 month check-up is not for a while :(
Flip Diapers: shortest setting, 4 snaps in
Clothes: Depends on the brand, some 0-3m, some 3m, some 3-6m
Schedule: HG usually gets up around 7 and still follows a 3 hour nurse, play, nap routine.  Some days she is stretching to 3 1/2-4 hour routine, but not consistently.  At night, she nurses around 7 and goes to bed about 7:30 and sleeps until morning.  She is very social and struggles to nap while we are out and about.
Development:  She rolled from her tummy to her back this week.  She is not doing this all the time, but now we know she is able to.  She is grasping everything and exploring it with her mouth.  She giggles when we tickle her tummy or give her kisses on her neck.  She talks all the time.  At a party last night, she talked so loud to try to match the volume in the room :)

17 weeks

Hatley-Grace rolled from her tummy to her back this week!  She has only done this on the couch, not on the floor yet.  I'm not sure what it is about the softer surface of the couch, but she is able to arch her back and roll herself over.

She is starting to transition into a 3-4 hour routine, which makes it harder for me to predict her routine.  Sometimes her naps are an hour, sometimes they are as long as 2 hours.  We have been out and about getting house stuff done, so this may be part of the reason as well.
Carpet is being installed in her nursery tomorrow!  Marty and I have worked really hard stripping, sanding and painting the trim in her room.  The walls are a sweet light pink, Sherwin Williams Patient White, and the trim is a nice bright white.  I can not wait to get her settled in her room tomorrow.  It is fun thinking about decorating her nursery all over again, and making a space that is just hers.  It is one of my favorite rooms in the house, with a large window and great natural light.

I imagine HG in a few months pulling herself up on the trim on the base of this window to watch the squirrels playing in the yard.  We still need to prime and paint the trim around the window, and build out the closet for her.  Slowly but surely!

16 weeks...better late than never

Hatley-Grace's days have looked mostly like this during her 16th week of life.

HG has been a trooper this week.  On Saturday, we officially moved into our new home in Crystal River, FL.  She has adjusted well to nap times on the move, new views from her crib and changing table and lots of noise.

HG has started cooing so much.  I need to learn how to post a video, because it is just like she is having a conversation with you!

Her big blue eyes and long lashes have been so sweet to me this week.  Y'all, it is stressful moving into a "fixer-upper" with a baby.  I have felt so torn between being a Mama, and getting unpacked, and doing projects this week.  I am longing for her nursery flooring to be done, so I can get her settled into her own space.

The first couple nights in the new house, she woke up at night, yet is now back to 12 hours consistently.  Her morning nap is always the best right now, but probably because we are usually at home.  She is eating every 3-31/2 hours.

She is not rolling over yet, but has much better head control.  We tried the Bumbo out this week, and I think she enjoyed it for a little while.  We also went to the church nursery to watch a friend's baby, and HG got to nap in the swing...which she really loves :)

HG enjoys Patty Cake and Our God Is So Great, right now and will giggle when we do the hand motions.  Her little giggles melt my heart!

More house updates to come when we get the chance :)
